Planning a PC upgrade.
« on: Feb 02, 2013, 07:08 AM »
Hey guys, it's been quite awhile since I've upgraded the PC, and I figured it's about that time. I'm not doing a complete overhaul, I'm just replacing the important stuff. I set a budget of $1000 for myself, and I stayed pretty close to it.  Any advice or criticisms are welcome.

What I currently plan to buy: http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=22278886

The other parts I am not replacing, which I will be transferring over from my old build:

-Antec 902 Mid-size Case
-750w PSU, recently tested for reliability, works great, cant remember the brand because I'm not at home :D
-1TB standard SATA HDD
-Standard disc drive

And I disappear, a ghost admidst the combat, preparing to strike.
It was your own fault; You should have paid attention and looked through the lie.
A most confused death, dead before he even knew where I struck from.
Farewell foolish thing.  Know that you have been deceived, as your soul moves on.

Oh, and the stuff that is being replaced:

MB: Asus P7P55D Pro
CPU: Intel I7-870 Lynnfield @ 2.93ghz
RAM: 8GB G-skill Ripjaws (4x 2GB sticks)
GPU: MSI GTX 560ti 1GB Twin Frozr II
And I disappear, a ghost admidst the combat, preparing to strike.
It was your own fault; You should have paid attention and looked through the lie.
A most confused death, dead before he even knew where I struck from.
Farewell foolish thing.  Know that you have been deceived, as your soul moves on.

Can I have your 8G? C:

It's contained within 4 sticks, so it would replace any and all current RAM that you have! :D

Long live air cooled systems!

Long live the Hyper 212 series!  That shit is magical yo.

That stuff is all nice, but you might want to drop another 100-200 bucks on an SSD.  Even if it's just for your boot disk you'll feel it.
