I'm kind of split over the EU, EU like the Old Republic i really support.  It's set in an era all it's own, lives by it's own rules, plays with it's own characters and doesn't pollute, alter or ripoff the original trilogy.  EU like the Bounty Hunter Wars and some of the pre-prequil books I think were fun, but I consider them more "what if?" than cannon.  They can burn it all for all I care, i never gave it much more credibility than fan fiction tbh.

http://starwars.com/news/star-wars-episode-7-cast-announced.html

The Star Wars team is thrilled to announce the cast of Star Wars: Episode VII.

Actors John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow will join the original stars of the saga, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker in the new film.

Director J.J. Abrams says, "We are so excited to finally share the cast of Star Wars: Episode VII. It is both thrilling and surreal to watch the beloved original cast and these brilliant new performers come together to bring this world to life, once again. We start shooting in a couple of weeks, and everyone is doing their best to make the fans proud."

Star Wars: Episode VII is being directed by J.J. Abrams from a screenplay by Lawrence Kasdan and Abrams. Kathleen Kennedy, J.J. Abrams, and Bryan Burk are producing, and John Williams returns as the composer. The movie opens worldwide on December 18, 2015.

Somebody re-edited the Star Wars prequels into one movie, ditching Jar Jar and focusing on Anakin's fall from grace.

There was an awesome YouTube video a few years ago where a guy basically re-wrote the prequils using the same basic plot arc but changed the details making it so much better.

I don't fault Lucas for making a kids movie, that's a valid choice, but even with the kiddy elements it could have been so much better.

Edit:
WHAT IF "STAR WARS: EPISODE I" WAS GOOD?

Posting in here because Disney owns Marvel as well, and Guardians of the Galaxy is in space, and Star Wars is in space, and Wall-E was in space which means that the Disney, Marvel and Star Wars universes are all the same universe.

Not too shocked about this one....When I heard this I wasn't shocked. Disney is in the mood to getting there hands on anything EPIC. Star wars is one of them. I will say Clone Wars is pretty boss.
