Disney buys Star Wars

At first I thought this was a joke...

$4B... They bought LucasFilm Ltd, ILM, Skywalker Sound and the rights to Indiana Jones....

Episode 7 is planned... To be followed by 8 & 9, the "a new movie every two to three years"

Ugh... Disneyized... I am not pleased.

First Marvel, now Star Wars? MOTHERFUCKER. If Lucas didn't want episode 7, what the hell makes Disney think they will be able to pull it off??

Jafar has definitely been ahead of the curve.

Did they say the time period this SW would take place?

Anything to get the SW brand away from Geroge Lucas works for me.  I would have liked to see JJ Abrams get his hands on SW instead of ST considering how big of a fan he is...

Disney has had some great movies, and TBH, Lucas is a fucking terribad screenwriter.  With Lucas staying on as a creative director, hopefully he will supply the story and the tech and then they get someone like kevin smith or joss whedon to do the writing and make an amazing movie.  I mean, if Hayden Christian didn't destroy the franchise, Disney cant be any worse.

What?!?!?!

No dude.   I mean I know you are trolling me but I'll take the bait.   TPM was a strong movie because it had Liam Neeson, Darth Maul with the wicked badass doublebladed shit making it's first appearance, and it was significant because for the first time, Star Wars was back in Theaters, it was a big deal.  If you take out the Midicloriens, Jar Jar Binks, and the Pod Race, you end up with a pretty solid movie.
Episode 4 however, while significant, is the oldest film, and seems to me to have been made as a standalone movie.  The film quality is the lowest of the star wars movies, the special effects are the weakest, and it has the most innacuracies, like Kessel Run being made in parsecs, luke's lightsaber being white, and stormtroopers that ignore a door simply because it is locked.  Based on that, I rank ep 1 above ep 4.

However, Empire and Jedi are the bomb.  2 is my least favorite, and I liked 3 except for the scene in which Anakin joins the Emperor, (Honestly that should have been stretched out WAY more).

The originals are generally the  best, I just don't really like A New Hope because its old.  I wish they'd remake all of them with new actors and fresher film and stuff.
