Medic Healing
« on: Jul 04, 2014, 07:16 PM »
Kind of surprised there isn't any threads on this.

I'll post my information to help new Medics out:

BUILD:

ws-base

HEALING MECHANICS:

The main idea behind this build is to keep mending probes up for most of the fight to account for 80-90 percent of all healing along with Emission spam and to use Flash to 'pop' the probes when burst healing is required.

After testing multiple builds I found fields to be useless as people move way to quickly in this game for them to tick long enough.

For burst healing I use the medic Innate with the Hypercharge amp which does a pretty nice AOE shield heal and apply a new set of Mending probes followed by Flash. This is currently the highest burst potential of all healers in the game.

I found the PvP healing gadget (Protection) that does a 5 man AOE heal very useful as its effects are instant over the Zen State gadget that provides the 10 second Support increase (this one is up to each Healers preference)

I also recommend looking for an off chance to pop Recharge as much as possible ( anywhere below 90% but when the group is topped off ) I also pop recharge after every pull and I never have to stop to recover focus.

I'm not an expert on runes but so far I had good luck with the 4 piece Focus Recovery set. You can also get the Insight increase runes.

PVP:

For PvP i run the same build but swap Recharge for Antidote to cleanse roots and blinds.

Because PvP gear is currently broken you want to run at least 3 PvP pieces to gain ~36% PvP Defense then the rest of the gear should be PvE. (crafted works fine but Epics are obviously better)

Nice build I do almost same thing except I dont take crit severity / crit

what i noticed inspecting you is stats difference between me wearing full pvp 1500 bg gear against your 3 1500 bg pieces / pve pieces

I only use half of rune slots and Im running with 8 set focus recovery set so I never run out of focus :)

Yeah im in the process of reading up more on my stats so they are kinda screwy atm. I hear people are running pvp with 2300 support which sounds insane.
