In-game Houses
« on: Jul 24, 2013, 01:12 AM »
When I mentioned I still maintained the rent on my house in EQ2, I got a couple tells from people who wanted to see some pics, so I figured since I spent an hour putting together the album I would link it here in case anyone else wanted to wax-nostalgic about EQ2 or laugh at my manic house deco.

Hey I remember that character!

Really nice looking house man. I hired some chick to do my house back in the day cause I was too lazy and I was rich as fuck. She then later ended up getting a job for SOE doing their zone designs.

Say what you want about eq2 but their house design system was the best I have seen in any MMO. If you are into that sort of stuff. The only two games that could rival it would be Ultima Online and SWG mainly because you could select the plots of land to put your house on.

Man, and I thought my place was nice just because I bought the most expensive wall panels...

That place ate months and months of my time, but it was a good diversion when content got stale at the end of an expansion.  Between the house, the epic/series quests, and the armor collection i always had something to grind or putter with.  It really took the edge off the boredom.

I miss that kind of secondary MMO content.

Most of the time i agree, but for a gnome assassin, soga was absolutely the way to go.  Non soga models looked like fat stoners, but soga gnomes are just like tiny creepy old men which was awesome for an evil dude.

Yeah, the bitch of it was, in EQ2 you actually used most of those.  I kinda miss having a rotation more complicated than "press these 5 buttons in order".  It was nice seeing 2 people in the same gear not be identical because it took a little bit of skill.
