I've always hated founder packs/collectors edition.. why don't they just let us earn this shit by playing their game? Fuck.

I bought the 99 dollar version.   Gonna be going all-in with this game at first.

it's possible I will too, but I am still pissed at that price point.  it's pretty absurd, especially since it doesn't give you a damn thing in the actual MMO, just the damn minecraft minigame

I have never minecrafted or done anything like this so I am super hesitant.  There is no competition in those games so the appeal isn't there.

To those of you who do like that shit, what makes it rewarding?

Some kids just like playing with legos.

For some people winning isnt the only goal, sometimes it's fun just making something.  Certainly, it isnt for everyone, but i think it would be a fun diversion.  The problem i have is the timing.  This will be filling a time slot i feel will likely fall around wildstar launch so it has stiff competition for my attention.

Loxx I was going to quote you, but I can't seem to quote, since everytime I hit Quote, it takes me to the home page.  But, to answer your concern... I think you just MAY get something in the actual MMO.   The Senior Producer tweeted that they will allow character transfers from Landmark to EQNext, so you can probably take your stuff with you into the MMO.

And Turbo - I think it boils down to playing with Legos.  Personally I loved them.  Playing Minecraft offers a similar experience without ever having to step on one of curse to god about the pain.  I've built entire cities, Star Wars landscapes, all kinds of amazing things - and I can have other people come on my server and share it all with them.  For Landmark, those creations have a shot at actually ending up in the MMO, which is pretty awesome especially if you end up making something really cool.

It has been confirmed that none of the landmark pre-order bonuses will transfer to eq:n

Not to de-rail the thread of anything but Minecraft caters to people who just like to build interesting stuff. Also if you're interested in playing it as a survival game you have that option. I hear some people talk about how they would love a Zombie Survival game and with a certain mod you can literally do just that. It is a really cool game that can be made very interesting if you get mods and it is pretty in depth when it comes to going around gathering the materials so you can make certain things like a bed for instance.

It is a pretty good game when you get over the graphics but it still caters to a certain crowd. If you want I don't mind sharing my login info for Minecraft because I literally haven't played that game in about 4 months and I bought it when it was in beta.

Hmmm, that sucks.   Hopefully they will refine that to at least allow the outfits in.   But regardless, the items you get will still aid in transition into EQNext, because if you want to craft, you will need to harvest, craft, etc... and the bonus items you get from the trailblazer pack will aid in creation, therefore your contribution to EQNext will still be impacted by these items...   not that it is worth 100 bucks... but at least it's something.   It's really an absurd price point for what you are getting.

It's really an absurd price point for what you are getting a free game.

Fixed.

*A free game that feeds content to the real game via unpaid labor, both of which will be monetized and crippled by poor development.

My point is that this should have been the locomotive on the hype-train.  Prices should have been $10, $20, $40.  They should have polished this turd and gotten everyone in and shoved unicorns and rainbows in their face to guarentee the nerdgasm over eq:n continues.

Now, they are at least 4 months behind schedule, have people pissed over the price of a PR alpha buy-in and having people re-evaluating their decision to invest in the franchise.

And FYI all free games have cash purchase options... some just do it WAY better.    I just hope this ends up being alot of fun.  I miss having fun in a game.
