What we're looking for
We are looking for something in good taste with a unique design.
It should be iconic--the shape should be recognizable as LD50's logo even without the explicit text.
If colored, it should be compatible with the current web color scheme.
It has to look good in monochrome. Use white-space effectively.
It should be simple and bold, while also standing out.

Some extra information for inspiration
Words that describe us: Adaptive, Competitive, Constant, Dedicated, Diverse, Elite, Entertaining.
As a guild, we are primarily focused on endgame PvE.
We enjoy challenging ourselves.
We are always looking for ways to improve.
We will contribute strategies, guides, theorycrafting, etc. to the community.

Some nice looking stuff here. I was hoping to get in on this contest, but I couldn't find the time.  :-\

Out of curiosity, is voting open for the general public, or just members?

If you can vote, you can vote.  ;)

This is just to narrow down to the top five by tonight. Then there's a few more days where they can refine their entries further and then we'll make our decision about which one wins.

The top five submissions are in the poll at the top of the page.

The poll only reflects popularity--it is not the means of determining the winning logo.

If you're in the top five you have until 23:59:59 November 15, 2011 EST (-5 UTC) to update, revise or otherwise refine your submission. You can submit something new, but if you do, it must replace your current logo.

(If you can vote, you can also change your votes while refinements are being made to indicate a change of favorite.)

If you have two logos in the top five, you must decide which one will be your final entry by the end of the contest, and mark it as your final submission.

Make sure you ask for feedback if you have doubts about a concept or an element of a concept, so that you can revise efficiently and successfully.

Good luck!

Out of pure curiosity, how is the selection of the winner going to be different than this popularity ranking? Are you adding "grading" criteria to give each logo to a score based on what you stated you were looking for, in addition to popularity?

This question stems from the fact I noticed there were more than 14 votes and 7 voters, so there was a multiple vote option at some point (had to have been vote 3 times). If me and Gash need to pick one to be our final submission, then that means there's only 3 to choose from, so if everyone used all 3 votes (assuming you can't vote multiple times for the same one, which is typical in these kinds of polls, though I don't know much about SMF), it'd be a tie...

The winner will be determined by internal debate. That's why three days have been allocated after the final deadline for us to argue. And argue we will... These public fora are certainly not the only place that logo discussions happen. ;)

It's less Survivor-like voting and more Top Chef-like discourse.

Alright, cool. I can deal with that. Was just wondering how this was actually going to fly. Most of these things are purely popularity contests.  :o

Last chance bump for showing your preference. Note that the options are down to three. You can remove your vote and re-vote as you see fit.

We will be finalizing our decision tomorrow.
